Favorite LGBT character in any media: Various characters in my own work, including SENTINEL/PRIDE; Will Truman (Eric McCormack, WILL & GRACE.)

One person you'd like to meet: Steven Spielberg.

What comic book character would you like to be, and why? Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic, because he is a scientific super-genius, can discover or create anything, is smarter than everyone else, and lives a life of awe and wonder and excellence and distinction.

Last good movie you saw: SIGNS

Last good book you read: KING, WARRIOR, MAGICIAN, LOVER by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette.

CDs you're listening to now: THE COLLECTED WORKS OF STEVIE WONDER; the musical version of THE WAR OF THE WORLDS.

What aspect of the comics medium draws you to work in it? The ability to tell stories in words and pictures, and create worlds of beauty and wonder and sexy protagonists of noble, inspiring character.

What does the phrase "gay sensibility" mean to you? The ability to see the world as a place of differences and fascination by acknowledging different ways of loving and living.

Does your queerness impact your work? Lord yes. My heroes are almost invariably men I'd want in bed. And I always want to show gay and heterosexual characters coexisting on equal footing in the same stories.

What advice do you have for aspiring comics creators? The only reason to attempt a career in comics is that you truly, deeply love comics. Do it for love or not at all.

Comics career highlights: So far, the issues of GAY COMICS with SENTINEL/PRIDE. But stay tuned.
