Sorry for the late posting, but thanks to a post from Valerie D’Orazio, I just learned about Scarlett Takes Manhattan, a graphic novel by Molly Crabapple and John Leavitt. The pair will be on hand tonight at MOCCA on July 21st from 7 - 8 pm for a free book discussion, a documentary on “Scarlett” by Randy Gentle will be screened and the original Sin Cider will attend as well.
Scarlett appeared in Leavitt’s and Crabapple’s “Backstage” webcomic that appeared on Act-i-vate. D’Orazio quotes Crabapple as saying:”It has Tammany Hall and bad politics and early-lesbian culture in it. And it’s very dirty.”
Scarlett Takes Manhattan is from Fugu Press and available for order on Amazon.
The Museum of Comics and Cartoon Art is at 594 Broadway, Suite 401 between Houston and Prince.
