Today at the DC Universe blog, Alex Segura breaks news of an ongoing Batwoman title in the wake of writer Greg Rucka’s departure. Segura talks about artist J H WIlliams roles as artist and co-writer with W. Haden Blackman, along with Amy Reeder Hadley, the talented artist of Madame Xanadu, coming onboard as artist for the second arc. Details may be read here.
J H Williams talks about the new title and his involvement with the character and his visual design with Comic Book Resources in this uncredited interview.
Great news to start my day!

Hi, Joe – Got here looking for the old GLA site, and I quite like what I found! Kudos on the blog format, man!
Regarding Batwoman, I’m glad she’s still getting her series, but without Rucka, I really dread the way DC might edit it…
Best,
J.
Hello, James, and thanks very much! The old version was long, long outdated, and it died an ugly death when a hacker(s) gained access and removed most everything. Silver lining though, got to start over.
I share your concern about Batwoman without Rucka. We’ll find out soon enough I guess. Hey, have you read either of the first couple issues of Rucka’s Stumptown from Oni? The main character is a woman working as a private detective and the writing and characterization made me wonder if Renee Montoya would’ve turned out more like her if she hadn’t gone and become the Question. If you haven’t, look around for it and thumb through it in the shop. You might like it.
And thanks very much for stopping by and saying hello!
Joe
Hi, Joe, thanks for the recommendation – I’ll be sure to check out Stumptown the next time I’m at the shop!
You’re welcome, James. IIRC there will be a third issue hopefully within the next month.
