Hahahahahahahahaha! The internets is breaking! Things can always get worse!

  1. Somebody tell her that the jacket doesn’t fit. I love the idea of changing the costume from the Republican hooker version, but this one is really dated. Jim Lee did well in the 90s and now he wants to keep us all there. As opposed to others at DC who are determined to bring back the late 70s.
Fashion time travel is such a headache!

  2. I’ve run out of vitriol to spill about this abortion of a redesign. Seriously, someone just make it stop.

Till then, it’s back to the Perez tpbs for consolation.

The Perez material is always good for re-reading, James! The Simone Perez story in #600 is a nice revisit with the Kapatelis’s. It’s been so long since they’ve been seen. From what I’ve read on comics news sites and the “preview” story from JMS, the new costume isn’t permanent, as the story is a “what if” exploration. Not to say that I think Jim Lee was successful…unless he was trying for a hip “night on the town” look for Taco Whiz Diana.

Oh, Robert, you always make me laugh!

  5. Tony Smith says:

Didn’t MIke Deodato Jr. basically give her this same look a few years back? I didn’t see THAT on the evening news.

  6. Joe Palmer says:

Deodato’s redesign was after Taco Whiz and before Byrne, wasn’t it? Just trying to place the time in my head. Both designs are sub par imho. Has anyone ever seen a choker on a woman face to face? Maybe it’s a weapon or secret device? This won’t last long, if past this story arc.

  7. Hey, Joe!
Yeah, I LOVED the Kapatelis’ appearance in WW #600, too!
Having read it now, I still am VERY wary of this new direction, but am willing to give it a couple of months try.

    Not optmistic, though.

  8. Joe Palmer says:

James, I can appreciate your being wary. The premise of the story doesn’t sound so terrible to me though I have reservations which are, honestly, based on assumptions of past WW stories/ directions. In any case, I think using the Kapatelis women again as supporting characters even occasionally would be interesting.
