Live from the NOH8 party … Rocker chic(k) new music artist Erica Chase, right, has been in the studio with producer/metal legend Dana Strum (Slaughter/Vince Neil), but took a break to join actor James Corp (left) and NOH8 co-founder Adam Bouska (center) on the red carpet in support of The NOH8 Campaign 3rd Annual Anniversary Celebration to support gay and lesbian causes at House of Blues in West Hollywood.  Additional celebs included recording artists LeAnn Rimes, Dave Navarro and Anthony Improgo as well as Lea Thompson (Back to the Future), Louis van Amstel (Dancing with the Stars), Ashley Fink (Glee), Fernanda Rocha (Real Housewives of Orange County), Carla Ortiz (Che Guevara), Jodi Sweetin (Full House), Mackenzie Phillips (One Day at a Time), Jai Rodriguez (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy), Dave Coulier (Full House), Becky O’Donohue (American Idol) and Pauley Perrette (NCIS).

The Hooded Utilitarian site has published part one of artist Sina Evil’s “Gay Ghetto Comics”, a paper that was presented at the “New Directions in Comic Studies” symposium at Birkbeck College. Sina’s makes some excellent points in this first part and I look forward to reading the second part. Part one may be read here.

R Crumb’s Rejected Same Sex Marriage Cover

VICE Magazine’s Juliette Eisner contacted me to tell me about an illustration on the topic of same sex marriage by alt indy comics creator R Crumb that was designed for and rejected by the New Yorker.
