Robert Kirby, that is. Not Jack. Robert (you know him from Curbside Boys, Boy Trouble, and Three) has compiled a list of his top 20 self-pubbed comics for the year. You can read Kirby’s list and maybe discover something new to read.

OUT magazine highlights Bunker, the new member of Teen Titans who just happens to be gay — and flamboyantly so. Teen Titans #3 hits comics shops tomorrow. The Hooded Utilitarian publishes part 2 of indy comics creator/ historian Sina Evil’s Gay Ghetto paper, this time focusing on the comics of Rob  Kirby. Read it here.

The Hooded Utilitarian site has published part one of artist Sina Evil’s “Gay Ghetto Comics”, a paper that was presented at the “New Directions in Comic Studies” symposium at Birkbeck College. Sina’s makes some excellent points in this first part and I look forward to reading the second part. Part one may be read here.

VICE Magazine’s Juliette Eisner contacted me to tell me about an illustration on the topic of same sex marriage by alt indy comics creator R Crumb that was designed for and rejected by the New Yorker.
