[...] New Characters Page Since the shift to the WordPress, Gay League has been a little difficult to navigate. I am working on creating a character page, so it will be easier to navigate and actually find specific characters, comics, etc. It is still a work in progress (I’m doing this in my spare time as a volunteer), but feel free to post any suggestions or corrections. In the meantime, you can check out teh new character page here: http://www.gayleague.com/wordpress/characters/ [...]

your list doesn’t seem to include everyone; there were a lot of gays in X-Statix (Phat, Vivisector, etc.) and for some strange reason you seem to have forgotten about Rawhide Kid.
Hi, Felix,
You’re absolutely right that some rather obvious (and less obvious) characters are missing. This site experienced an unfortunate incident with a hacker who removed about 90 % of its content. A number of character profiles were put back, and some aren’t yet because I’d planned to update them. IIRC the one I’d written for Phat and Vivesector is one that needed some work. It’s a poor excuse and I’ll try to make better use of my time.
Thanks for visiting and your comment.
Joe
someone missing from this list is Scandel Savage from Secret Six and her partner… who I am momentarily forgetting the name of.
Hi, Joe,
You’re right, Scandal and Knockout, her now dead till she gets better girlfriend, are missing. Their profiles were included here till the site was attacked and lots had to be re-published. Their profiles still need updating, but maybe I should put them back up anyway.
Joe the other
Hmmm….excellent site, though I believe it’s missing Grace and Thunder from the Outsiders. Since they haven’t appeared in over a year (thus meaning they need little updating), is there any chance you could add their pages?
Hi, Bren,
Thanks for stopping by and mentioning Grace and Thunder. I have profiles for both characters. They were online and then a hacker brought down most of the site, including all the LGBT character profiles. I’d tried finding a nice image of Grace and will look again. Otherwise, it’ll be a unflattering one that goes back for the time being. By any chance would you have a good image of her?
Joe
This one any good?

If not, I can try to find some others.
Oh, that’s a really good image of Grace! Thank you. I can’t remember seeing it before. Now to dust off those two profiles.
Joe
No Francie and Katchoo from “Strangers in Paradise” by Terry Moore?
Hello,
Before March of last year I had a profile for Francine and Katchoo up. Then some hacker deleted 90 % of the site. I still have the profile, but it was written by someone that I’ve no way to get in touch with and it’s very, very out of date, as are some other profiles that should be up here. I guess an out of date one is better than none at all though.
Joe
hey there, i was wondering if you also includes in the list the “not known” sexuality, because the main character of Vaugham’s Ex Machina, Mitchell Hundred, so far they have been like glimpses of his possible homosexuality, or bisexuality, tough the character never responds to the direct question in the book, he is really close with a male character who´s a childhood friend. the possibilities of his homosexuality are greater than the possible bisexuality of John Constantine
cheers!
Hey there back! Good question and the answer is yes. I’ve always planned to include Mitchell Hundred but one thing or another distracted me. At this point I need to sit down and re-read the series which would be really enjoyable. There’s also a lesbian supporting character who’s with either the NYPD or the FBI, and the deputy mayor’s brother and his husband whom Hundred married early in the series.
Constantine is bisexual. Azzarello built a story involving a male lover sometime around #180.

Has it been addressed that there is a HEAVY over tone of love or obsession between Jason Todd and Batman in the animated movie Under the Red Hood ?
Hi, O T,
Actually, I haven’t watched the movie yet, and this is the first I’ve heard about it. Care to spoil me a little?
Joe
i was wonder why there no list here gay characters from web comics like mine ?
Hello,
Much of the reason for lack of profiles for LGBT characters is because the people who write these consists of volunteers. One other person mainly writes entries for characters from Marvel characters, I write mainly DC characters and a few others here and there, and a small handful of other folk have written entries here and there. So it comes down to time and familiarity. There are only a couple of manga/ yaoi characters as well.
Joe
In Hercules fall of an avenger #1. we discover northstar and Herc Did something. From there, Herc Bisexual to me. (Thanks, Thanks All father!)
Here’s food for thought. The original “Cheetah” Priscilla Rich and the Golden age Wonder Woman. She had a huge crush and envied her because she was (secretly) sexually attracted.
Most Golden Age Wonder Woman stories have a huge s/m and bondage and are laced with bi sexual tone. However, the Cheetah was always creepily and hotly looking at that Amazon physique.
Cheetah never married and in later DC comics was a reclusive old spinster who was killed off.
One can even tie in the silver age Dr. Cyber…she sure wanted that face and body enough….(more thought needed).
Hello,
Interesting idea and one that never occurred to me. Do you have any specific stories/ issues that you can point me to?
Joe
Hello
I’d like to know if you still have the informations and bio about the character that I sent to you along time ago. She had a pretty profile in your last blog, and I will love see my favorite vampire on your page again. Please. She is Mirza the vampire woman (Mirza a mulher vampiro) from Brazil, do you remember? Thanks a lot…
PS.: do you know Supercake? She is a lesbian heroine from Argentine…

Hi, Fernando,
I thought I replied about an hour ago but I guess I forgot to click “reply”. Yes, I still have it but several things happened. The site was hacked over 95% of it was deleted — and had to be rebuilt. I lost your name (and contact information) so it didn’t seem right to re-post it without including your name. Then I wasn’t — and I’m still uncertain — how to include all the images that you were kind enough to send to me. So if you will let me know how you want your credit to read I’ll re-post it.
Supercake is new to me. Unfortunately, I do not read Spanish very well.
Joe
This is great Joe!
I’d love to see Mirza here again. I have the old printed page of the old site and I have some other pictures too. Do you want to send again? Can be credited with the name of Fernando de Paula … it is a beautiful homage to the creator of the character who died a while ago, Eugenio Colonnese. big hug
Fernando
PS.: About the Spanish, if you are curious, use the google translator. I think this is an interesting character in Argentina.
